UAE Fuel Price FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How often do UAE fuel prices change?
Usually once a month. New prices are usually announced at the end of the month and apply from the 1st of the next month.
Are prices the same in all emirates?
The monthly announcement gives one set of prices, and the same prices apply in all emirates as general information.
What is the latest petrol price?
See the home page for the latest month in our data. Every price on this site comes from the data file, not from a typed figure on a page.
What do Super 98, Special 95 and E-Plus 91 mean?
They are petrol grades named by octane rating: 98, 95 and 91. Use the grade your car manual specifies.
Can I use a higher grade than my manual says?
Check your car manual. It states the minimum octane your engine needs; do not assume a higher grade helps every engine.
Why is a month missing from the history?
Only months in the data file are shown. A missing month is a gap and is never filled in, estimated or interpolated.
How is a full tank cost calculated?
Tank size in litres multiplied by the price per litre for the grade you choose. See the tank calculator for a worked example.
Does this site predict next month’s price?
No. This site explains how prices are set and shows past months only. It makes no forecast.
Where does the data come from?
The data file records the UAE Fuel Price Committee (official monthly announcement), with a source note for each month.
Who runs this site?
See the About page. This is an independent website, not affiliated with any government entity or fuel retailer.
